Originating from Finland, this unique beverage pays homage to a post-war innovation designed to ease the service of cocktails at large public events, such as the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. The Long Drink category has since become a beloved staple in Finnish drinking culture. Produced by the Hartwall Brewery, a pioneering force in Finnish beverage production, this drink blends tradition with modern refreshment.
Crystal clear and sparkling, The Finnish Long Drink Zero Sugar opens with invigorating aromas of grapefruit zest and fresh citrus. The palate delivers a clean, crisp rush of tart grapefruit, underscored by hints of piney gin botanicals. Its light-bodied profile is balanced by effervescence and a dry, refreshing finish that lingers pleasantly. While not a wine, its composition of gin and citrus soda mimics the nuanced structure of a fine apéritif. This sugar-free version retains all the flavour and character of the original, without added sugars. Best enjoyed well-chilled and young, this is a drink designed for immediate enjoyment.
