Crafted in the Manchuela DO of central-eastern Spain, Bodegas y Viñedos Ponce Clos Lojen Bobal is a standout organic red wine that showcases the true potential of the indigenous Bobal grape. Founded by visionary winemaker Juan Antonio Ponce, the estate practices biodynamic viticulture and low-intervention winemaking. Sourced from organically farmed old head-trained vines (30 to 50 years old) grown in limestone and clay soils at high altitudes, the grapes are hand-harvested and whole-cluster fermented with native yeasts in large neutral oak vats. Aged for 6 to 7 months in seasoned French oak casks, Clos Lojen delivers fresh juicy berry fruit, bright natural acidity, and a light-to-medium-bodied frame reminiscent of fine Beaujolais or Northern Rhône Syrah.
Food Pairing: Grilled pork chops, roast chicken, charcuterie boards, paella, mushroom tapas, and medium-aged Spanish cheeses like Manchego.
