This graceful and site-specific red wine originates from the United States, specifically within the Oregon region and the renowned Willamette Valley AVA. Established in 1979, La Crema has spent decades exploring the premier cool-climate growing regions of the West Coast. The winery's philosophy for its Oregon expansion is to highlight the unique volcanic and sedimentary soils of the valley, utilizing small-batch fermentation and careful oak ageing to produce a Pinot Noir that captures the region's signature tension and elegance.
Wine Description
La Crema Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2024 presents a brilliant ruby colour with delicate violet reflections. The sensory profile is highly aromatic and 'earthy', featuring a nose of red cherry, pomegranate, and wild strawberry, layered with sophisticated notes of star anise, violet, and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and 'silky', showcasing flavours of raspberry, blueberry, and spicy black plum underpinned by a hint of flinty minerality. It is characterized by its fine-grained tannins and a bright, lingering acidity that leads to a persistent finish with notes of black tea and toasted oak. This 100% Pinot Noir typically reaches an ABV of 13.5%. While the estate follows strict sustainable practices, this bottling is not certified organic.
