The Dreaming Tree Pinot Noir 2023 hails from California, a region renowned for producing expressive and approachable expressions of this varietal. This label is a creative collaboration between South African-American musician Dave Matthews and award-winning winemaker Sean McKenzie, who shared a vision of making high-quality, sustainable wines accessible to a broad audience. The winery emphasizes environmental stewardship, utilizing Certified California Sustainable growing practices, lightweight bottles, and recycled paper labels to reduce its ecological footprint.
Wine Description
This Pinot Noir presents a bright ruby colour in the glass. The aromatic profile is defined by ripe cherry, wild strawberry, and vanilla, complemented by subtle hints of caramel and toasted oak. On the palate, the wine is juicy and soft, featuring well-integrated tannins that provide a delicate structure. This medium-bodied red offers a balanced complexity with a long, smooth finish highlighted by notes of spice and toasted wood.
Food Pairing
The versatile structure and fruit-forward nature of this wine make it an excellent companion for a variety of dishes. It pairs exceptionally well with grilled salmon, roast lamb, and mushroom risotto, where its acidity cuts through rich textures. For more casual fare, consider serving it alongside portobello burgers or a selection of soft cheeses such as Brie or Camembert.
