This expressive white wine originates from the prestigious Rheingau region of Germany, specifically from the historic single vineyard of Schloss Johannisberg. As the world’s first Riesling estate, Schloss Johannisberg has been producing 100% Riesling since 1720. The estate uses a traditional color-coded capsule system; Gelblack (Yellow Seal) serves as their inviting "entry-level" wine, representing a classic and aromatic introduction to the estate’s terroir-driven style.
Wine Description
The Schloss Johannisberg Gelblack Riesling presents a brilliant, pale lemon-yellow colour. The sensory profile is exceptionally vibrant and fresh, featuring a bouquet of yellow peach, apricot, and grapefruit, accented by delicate notes of orange blossom, rosemary, and cool mint. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and "energetic," showcasing a fabulous concentration of fruit balanced by a racy, wet-stone acidity. It is characterized by its crisp, linear structure and a persistent finish that echoes with citrus freshness and mineral clarity.
