This 9-year, barrel-proof bourbon delivers a compelling combination of richness and boldness. Its higher proof amplifies classic bourbon elements—oak, caramel, spice—while still preserving drinkability. It’s a confident sipper, ideal for those who appreciate intensity without overextraction.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Redemption’s “Barrel Proof” line features limited-edition releases bottled at cask strength. The 9-year expression draws from barrels matured in new, charred American oak. The mash bill is 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley, placing it in a “low-rye” frame relative to many modern high-rye bourbons.
Batch 4 is one of successive batches for the 9-year series. It is bottled without chill filtering, at full strength, so you experience undiluted flavor and texture. The extended aging allows deeper oak influence to integrate with the distillate’s inherent character.
Tasting Profile
Nose: Warm caramel and crème brûlée open the bouquet, layered over toasted oak, vanilla, and a faint fruit brightness. There’s a touch of leather and char, adding gravitas.
Palate: Full and chewy. Caramel, molasses, and dark toffee dominate. Beneath, baking spices—cinnamon, clove—rise, along with gentle rye pepper and charred wood. The corn sweetness serves as anchoring softness, balancing the higher proof.
Finish: Long, warm, and drying. The oak routes forward with char, then recedes into caramel echoes, lingering spice, and a whisper of toasted nuts. The finish has strength but remains elegant rather than abrasive.

Why Note “Batch 4”
The “batch” designation in Redemption’s Barrel Proof line signals a discrete selection of barrels bottled together. Batch 4 may exhibit subtle differences—oak intensity, spice levels, proof variances—from earlier or later batches. For collectors or enthusiasts, the batch tag helps identify and compare variations across releases, and it ensures traceability of quality and characteristics.
