The Privada LCA Coco Berry Toro Aged 1 Year is a unique, full-bodied Nicaraguan puro that combines rich Nicaraguan tobacco with an unexpectedly sweet, fruit-forward flavor profile. Originally produced by Lanuza Family Cigars, this limited LCA release has now been aged for one year, giving the tobaccos additional time to rest, marry, and develop before reaching your humidor.
Rolled in a 6 x 52 Toro, LCA Coco Berry features an experimental Rosé Corojo sun-grown wrapper developed by Raul Lanuza. This distinctive Nicaraguan tobacco receives full sunlight while gaining slight natural shade from the upper leaves of the plant, resulting in a wrapper known for its unusually sweet character.
Underneath the Rosé Corojo wrapper are Nicaraguan Corojo binder and filler tobaccos grown from the same seed strain and sourced from Jalapa, Estelí, and Condega. Each tobacco comes from different regions and different portions of the plant while sharing the same Corojo lineage, creating a complex expression of Nicaraguan tobacco.
What truly separates the LCA Coco Berry from a traditional Nicaraguan cigar is its unusual combination of sweetness and strength. Before lighting, the wrapper presents an aroma reminiscent of freeze-dried blueberry, while the foot offers sweet cereal grain. The cold draw continues the theme with notes of marshmallow cream and berry candy.
Once lit, Coco Berry transitions into a deeper and richer profile featuring dark chocolate, espresso, red pepper, sweet molasses, and lingering fruit-like sweetness. The result is a fascinating contrast between the strength and richness of Nicaraguan Corojo and flavors more reminiscent of berries, candy, and dessert.
For cigar smokers searching for Privada LCA cigars, aged limited-release cigars, Nicaraguan puros, Corojo cigars, or unique boutique cigars, the Privada LCA Coco Berry Toro Aged 1 Year offers something genuinely different. Its combination of full-bodied Nicaraguan tobacco, experimental Rosé Corojo, fruit-forward sweetness, and an additional year of aging makes Coco Berry a standout LCA release.
