The wine has an intense garnet red colour. The nose is initially austere, then evolves to recall complex floral notes like dried rose petals and red fruit notes such as red cherries and raspberry. Secondary aromas include liquorice, spice, tobacco, tar, blood orange, and hints of cinnamon and clove. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich, and powerful with fine sensations of ripe red fruits. It displays a wonderfully silky texture, taut and compact tannins, vibrant and vertical acidity, and a long, lingering finish. This classic Barolo is extremely elegant and refined, possessing the muscularity and structure for aging. The varietal composition is 100% Nebbiolo. Optimal cellaring can extend beyond 25 years, with some vintages suggesting a potential until 2042 or longer.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs beautifully with a range of rich and flavourful dishes. Suggested pairings include fresh pasta with meat sauce or truffle, roasted or braised red meats, game, and long-aged cheeses. A perfect match to enhance the wine's complexity.
