The Old Rip Van Winkle Family Reserve 13 Year Rye is one of the most revered and highly allocated whiskeys in the world. It stands as a pivotal expression, offering a rye profile that completely contrasts with the aggressive, spicy versions standard in the category. This rye is exceptionally well-aged, having patiently matured for 13 years. That extended barrel time in Kentucky's variable climate rounds out the typically sharp edges of the rye grain, resulting in an astonishingly complex and velvety-smooth spirit.
Bottled at a gentle 93.6 proof, it maintains both flavor intensity and easy drinkability. The mashbill is notably softer than many high-rye bourbons, delivering an elegant balance of sweetness and spice. This bottle is a true collector’s prize. It delivers a rich, savory depth while still providing the signature rye notes of mint and pepper. It's a profound, refined sip that rewards slow contemplation.
