Nikka From The Barrel Extra Marriage is a limited-edition blended whisky created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Nikka From The Barrel. Combining malt whiskies from Yoichi and Miyagikyo with grain whiskies, the blend undergoes an extended marriage period of up to six months in used oak casks—twice as long as the original expression. Bottled at a robust 51.4% ABV, the additional maturation creates a richer, more integrated profile with generous fruit, chocolate, vanilla and oak character.
Food Pairing: Pair with roast beef, glazed pork, aged cheese, roasted nuts, tiramisu, coffee desserts or dark chocolate.
Tasting Notes: Rich and full-bodied with ripe fruit, chocolate, vanilla and malt sweetness complemented by orange peel, fine oak tannins and warming spice.
Nose: Soft, mellow oak with rich chocolate, ripe fruit and vanilla sweetness, followed by fresh orange peel and sweet malt.
Palate: Rich and full-bodied with a smooth, rounded texture, concentrated fruit and malt character, gentle spice and fine oak tannins.
Finish: Long and refined, with lingering oak, subtle bitterness, vanilla and woody warmth.
