Old Forester 1897 Bottled in Bond
A celebration of the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897—landmark legislation that transformed American whiskey by establishing the first consumer protection standards for spirits. This act was championed by Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. and supported by George Garvin Brown, founder of Old Forester, who recognized that quality and transparency would elevate the entire industry.
Bottled in Bond means this bourbon meets strict federal standards: distilled by one distiller at one distillery during one distillation season, aged at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at exactly 100 proof. These requirements guarantee authenticity and quality in every bottle.
Old Forester 1897 delivers bold, classic bourbon character: rich caramel and vanilla are joined by notes of dried fruit, baking spice, and charred oak, with a robust, warming finish that showcases the intensity of 100 proof. The higher proof brings exceptional depth while maintaining the smoothness Old Forester is known for.
Perfect for bourbon enthusiasts who appreciate history, transparency, and the bold flavor that Bottled-in-Bond expressions deliver. Exceptional neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails that demand character.
