Produced in the Lombardy region of Italy, specifically within the Provincia di Pavia IGT in the Oltrepò Pavese subregion, this wine is a vibrant example of the area's dedication to the Pinot Nero variety. Tenuta Mazzolino, established in the early 1980s by Enrico Braggiotti and currently managed by his granddaughter Francesca Seralvo, operates as a 'small Burgundy' in Italy. The estate's philosophy emphasizes organic practices, low yields, and a meticulous plot-by-plot management of its 20 hectares of vineyards to highlight the region's clay and limestone soils.
Wine Description
The Terrazze Pinot Nero presents a bright and luminous ruby red colour. The nose is fragrant and perfumed, leading with aromas of redcurrant, pomegranate, and wild strawberry, accompanied by delicate notes of violet and a hint of white pepper. On the palate, the wine is fresh and 'crunchy' with a silky texture and well-matured acidity that invites a second glass. Flavours of black cherry and raspberry dominate a medium-bodied profile, supported by refined tannins and a persistent, slightly spicy finish.
