Martin Ray Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2021 is a Sonoma Coast Chardonnay from Martin Ray Vineyards & Winery. The producer’s exact vintage technical sheet and the distributor bottle asset agree on the 2021 release. This is one 750 mL bottle at 13.8% ABV.
The wine was aged for 11 months with 40% new French oak. The producer describes citrus blossom, apple and lemon curd on the nose, followed by apricot, lemon meringue and a mineral impression of wet stone and oyster shell. Oak spice, salinity and bright acidity frame the fruit while keeping the finish fresh and focused.
Serve well chilled in a white-wine glass, allowing a few minutes in the glass for the aromas to open. Pair it with roast chicken, grilled fish, shellfish, creamy pasta, soft cheeses or vegetable dishes with herbs and butter. Store the unopened bottle in a cool, dark place away from heat and direct sunlight, then refrigerate after opening and enjoy within several days.
