Marc Delienne À la Folie Saint-Amour is produced from 100% Gamay Noir grown in the Saint-Amour AOC, the northernmost cru of Beaujolais. The wine originates from the À la Folie lieu-dit, where pebbly granite soils with clay-siliceous composition provide distinctive minerality. Marc Delienne converted his 14-hectare estate to organic and biodynamic viticulture in 2015. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted before undergoing carbonic maceration for 12 days in concrete tanks. Following pressing, the wine ages for 10 months in large Austrian foudres, which preserve the wine's fruit character while adding subtle complexity. Minimal sulfites are added only at bottling. The vineyards sit on east and southeast-facing slopes in Saône-et-Loire, benefiting from semi-continental climate influences. Try this great Beaujolais—it's one of the best I've ever had—and we only have a handful of bottles in stock. This wine demonstrates the quality potential of well-farmed Saint-Amour terroir. It offers food-friendly versatility, pairing naturally with charcuterie, roasted poultry, grilled meats, and aged cheeses. The wine's balanced acidity and fine tannins make it adaptable to various cuisines. Limited quantities are available from this small-production cuvée.
