The Perrin family have been in wine production for several generations. The modern story begins in the early twentieth century with the Château de Beaucastel, jewel of Chateauneuf Pape. In 1909 Pierre Tramier acquired the estate. After him, his son in law, Pierre Perrin, and in turn his own son, Jacques Perrin, developed Beaucastel and its vineyards. Today the fifth generation continues the family passion. The strength of the Perrin Family is knowing how to utilise the talents of the team to support the production of their vineyards but always under the guidance of these common values: absolute respect for the terroir and the soils, biodynamics as a philosophy of life, and the pursuit of precision, balance, and elegance in wine-making.
“Terroir” is not an empty word for the Perrin Family but a philosophy. In each of their properties, Famille Perrin seek to produce the purest expression of the terroir. In practical terms, this means treasuring the soil, the environment, and the history of the place. This journey has taken place in stages: Famille Perrin started cultivating their vineyards using organic practices in 1950; Château de Beaucastel began biodynamic farming in 1974.
Famille Perrin bottles a wide range of wines that include Château de Beaucastel, Domaine Du Clos Des Tourelles in Gigondas, Famille Perrin Crus, Miraval Rose and Champagne, Masion Les Alexandrins, La Vieille Ferme, and Tablas Creek in Paso Robles, California.
