James Gin California Dreamgin 750mL
British Gin | 40% ABV (80 Proof) | 750mL | Made with Mushroom, Oregano & Patchouli | Savory, Earthy & Groovy
Process & Profile
James Gin California Dreamgin 750mL is a distinctive British gin created by James May, inspired by California’s laid-back counterculture spirit and the earthy, aromatic character of mushrooms and patchouli. This unusual gin takes a classic botanical base and adds savory, herbaceous, and lightly fruity layers for a flavor profile that is bold, creative, and completely different from traditional dry gin.
The recipe highlights mushroom, oregano, and patchouli as key botanicals, supported by juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, lemon peel, bay, liquorice root, and other classic gin ingredients. Girolle mushrooms bring a light fruity and peppery note with a subtle hint of apricot, while patchouli adds earthy, woody depth. Oregano enhances the savory herbal character and helps balance the citrus brightness from coriander and lemon peel.
At 40% ABV, James Gin California Dreamgin offers a balanced yet adventurous gin experience. It is smooth enough for a simple gin and tonic, but layered enough for creative cocktails, savory highballs, martini-style serves, and herb-forward drinks. For gin lovers looking for something outside the ordinary, this bottle delivers a memorable mix of earthy depth, citrus lift, gentle spice, and botanical complexity.
