Honig Vineyard & Winery is a family-owned and operated business in the heart of Napa Valley, established in 1984. The family purchased the Rutherford ranch in 1964 and, after the patriarch Louis Honig passed away, his family produced a tribute Sauvignon Blanc in 1980 that won a Gold Medal, leading to the winery's creation. The winery is a leader in sustainability, being certified by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance and Fish Friendly Farming.
Wine Description
The complex aroma offers layered notes of cassis, blackberries, and dark cherries, with hints of cedar, vanilla, and baking spices. The palate is full-bodied and well-structured, featuring rich black fruit flavours like plums and blackberries, interwoven with notes of chocolate, espresso, and toasty oak.
Food Pairing
Suggested pairings include robust dishes like grilled steaks, lamb chops, and beef ribs, as well as roasted poultry with savoury sauces, and hearty stews like beef stew or osso buco.
