Henri Bardouin Pastis is a refined and richly aromatic French aperitif that elevates the traditional anise-flavored spirit to a new level of complexity and elegance. Produced in Forcalquier, Provence, this pastis is crafted from an extraordinary blend of 65 herbs and spices, making it one of the most intricate and well-balanced pastis on the market.
đż Whatâs Inside
Unlike industrial pastis that rely mainly on star anise and licorice, Henri Bardouinâs version includes a vibrant infusion of botanicals like:
-
Star anise, wormwood, cardamom, cinnamon, tonka bean, black pepper, sage, rosemary, and more
-
Each herb is individually macerated or distilled, then carefully blended
-
Bottled at 45% ABV, giving it exceptional intensity and longevity when diluted
đ Nose
Aromas of anise and fennel lead the way, followed by unfolding waves of floral spice, alpine herbs, dried citrus peel, and a touch of mint. Itâs an aromatic garden in a glassâfresh, earthy, and inviting.
đ Palate
Smooth and dry, with an initial burst of liquorice and star anise quickly evolving into a tapestry of herbal complexity, including bitter roots, floral notes, and spiced citrus. The texture is full and silky, especially when diluted with cold water.
đ Finish
Long and gently warming, with lingering notes of peppery herbs, dried flowers, and a cooling finish of anise and mint.
