The H. Upmann Daytrader Toro is a bold yet refined addition to the storied H. Upmann portfolio, tailored for the modern cigar aficionado who values balance, craftsmanship, and a touch of modern flair. Measuring 6 x 54, this Toro-sized cigar offers an extended smoking session that unfolds in dynamic layers, mirroring the calculated risks and rich rewards of the financial world its name evokes. The Daytrader is a collaboration with the Grupo de Maestros of Tabacalera de García in the Dominican Republic, combining time-honored tradition with a forward-thinking approach.
The blend is centered around an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper that imparts a deep, slightly oily sheen and a subtle spice on the cold draw. Beneath that, a Nicaraguan binder and a mix of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers deliver a medium-to-full-bodied experience that balances complexity and accessibility. Expect initial notes of cedar and black pepper, which give way to evolving layers of roasted nuts, leather, and hints of citrus zest, making each puff a nuanced discovery.
Aesthetically, the cigar is striking — dressed in sleek, contemporary banding that nods to Wall Street aesthetics without losing its traditional cigar roots. The construction is superb, offering a consistent draw and an even burn line throughout the smoke, reinforcing the quality synonymous with the H. Upmann name. Whether enjoyed during a moment of market downtime or after a successful close, the Daytrader Toro caters to those who appreciate both the calculated hustle of the trading floor and the indulgent pause of a fine cigar.
