H. Upmann cigars are the perfect embodiment of what a connoisseur’s cigar should be: Refined, flavorful and satisfying. No other cigar fits this mold better than the H. Upmann 1844 Reserve. And the 1844 Reserve Toro just might be the best of the lot!
The 6” x 54 H. Upmann 1844 Reserve Toro is a beautiful cigar wrapped in a leathery Ecuadorian Cubano wrapper. Underneath this toothy leaf is a Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic. This is a completely new recipe that upgrades the original 1844 Reserve, making for a bigger, bolder smoke. While more fuller bodied than the previous blend, the new cigar still maintains the quintessential Upmann refinement.
The Toro has an ideal draw and burn that displays a gloriously white ash. The Upmann 1844 Reserve churns out flavors of pepper, earth, spice and nutmeg with a unique toasted wood essence. The hour or more smoke begins with a silky smooth medium-bodied excursion, but by the finish, the tasty Toro is driving hard into fuller bodied territory.
One of the great cigars in its class, the H. Upmann 1844 Reserve is a must for connoisseurs. The smoke will be a grand pleasure cruise for one and all, so add a dry hopped IPA as a companion and enjoy the ride.
