Glasgow 1770 Tokaji Cask Finish Single Cask is a distinctive single-cask release produced by The Glasgow Distillery Company at their distillery in Hillington, Glasgow. Initially matured in ex-bourbon oak before being finished in a single cask previously holding sweet Tokaji dessert wine from Hungary, this expression showcases the distillery's innovative approach to spirit maturation. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 54.8% ABV without chill filtration or artificial coloring, it offers a harmonious fusion of rich honeyed malt, luscious stone fruits, bright citrus, and warm oak spice.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with lemon tart, apricot pie, vanilla bean panna cotta, foie gras crostini, or mild blue cheese.
Tasting Notes: A rich and luscious Lowland single malt featuring vibrant notes of candied orange, dried apricot, golden syrup, floral honey, and toasted oak spice.
Nose: Fragrant aromas of dried apricot, honeycomb, candied lemon peel, tropical mango, and subtle toasted oak.
Palate: Full-bodied and velvety on the palate with layers of poached peach, golden syrup, citrus oil, vanilla cream, and gentle baking spices.
Finish: Long and sweet with lingering notes of orchard fruit preserve, subtle grape sweetness, and soft wood spice.
Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn glass or with a few drops of water to open up its rich Tokaji wine fruit and honey layers.
