Distilled in Fall 2019 and matured for six years in new charred American oak at the Garrison Brothers ranch in Hye, Texas, this 750 ml bourbon meets the Bottled in Bond standard in full: one distilling season, one distiller, one distillery, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). The wide temperature swings of the Hill Country pushed the spirit in and out of the barrel wood, building layer upon layer of character over those six years.
The aroma leans oaky and smoky, with tobacco, leather and campfire kindling. On the palate it turns robust and earthy, showing toasted oak and heavy wood sugars that recall maple syrup and homemade root beer with a sassafras edge. Layers of caramelized dark chocolate follow, mingling with plums, nectarines, roasted almonds and toffee for a mouth-watering finish. Deep mahogany amber in the glass, this bonded whiskey from Master Distiller Donnis Todd works neat or in classic cocktails.
