Foundation’s Olmec series is an ode to the ancient Olmec people of Mexico, who thrived over 2500 years ago in what is today Tabasco and southern Veracruz. This area includes San Andres Tuxtla, home to Mexico’s most highly prized tobacco. The Olmec Claro Corona Gorda beautifully showcases the San Andres leaf’s versatility and smoothness, lending its deep texture to a sumptuous, full-flavored experience.
The Olmec Claro Corona Gorda’s San Andres wrapper leaf joins rich Nicaraguan Esteli and Jalapa filler tobaccos, which are bale-aged three years after fermentation. The tobaccos are assembled at the prestigious Tabacalera AJ Fernandez factory in Nicaragua for Foundation Cigar Company.
The Olmec Claro Corona Gorda is a lively 5 ½” x 48 box-pressed smoke that unleashes a bold concoction of chocolate, toast, toffee peanut, orange peel, wood, and pepper flavors. Hints of coffee and sweet cream harmoniously tie the flavors together for a savory and sweet finish touched with bursts of Eastern spice.
A grand celebration of the San Andres region’s past and present, the Olmec Claro Corona Gorda is a 93-rated jewel that solidifies the San Andres leaf as one of the world’s best now and into the future. Pair with your favorite aged tequila or rum for a truly festive experience.
