Forthave Green Herbal Liqueur establishes itself as a sophisticated American alternative to the revered Chartreuse, offering bartenders and enthusiasts a premium herbal expression rooted in Brooklyn-based craft distilling expertise. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and a carefully guarded blend of botanical ingredients, Forthave Green captures the complex, mysterious allure of alpine herbal liqueurs while bringing a distinctly American sensibility and innovation to the category. For those seeking a premium herbal liqueur with Chartreuse-level complexity and sophistication, Forthave Green delivers an exceptional alternative that stands confidently on its own merits.
The appearance is a luminous bright green, immediately establishing visual parity with its French counterpart and signaling the herbal richness contained within. The nose reveals an intricate and captivating bouquet of mint, anise, and warming spices interwoven with subtle floral notes, hints of citrus, and the characteristic herbal complexity that defines great alpine liqueurs. Like Chartreuse, Forthave Green presents remarkable aromatic layers that unfold with each exploration, inviting deeper investigation. The palate is intensely herbaceous yet remarkably balanced and approachable, with vibrant mint, sage, and herbal character creating a sophisticated botanical foundation. Flavors of anise, citrus, and warming spice are complemented by subtle sweetness and depth, allowing the spirit's herbal complexity to shine. Unlike Chartreuse's famously medicinal intensity, Forthave Green delivers herbal character with elegant refinement and slightly more accessibility, making it equally at home in spirit-forward cocktails or as a standalone digestif. The finish is long and herbally warming, with persistent botanical and spice notes that linger with impressive sophistication.
