Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Les Caillerets' 2024 is a prestigious, finely tuned white Burgundy from one of Chassagne-Montrachet’s most celebrated Premier Cru climats. Renowned for its steep, stony limestone soils, 'Les Caillerets' consistently imparts exceptional mineral complexity and precision to Chardonnay. Crafted by Céline Fontaine using traditional techniques, indigenous yeasts, and aging in French oak barrels (roughly 30% new), this wine opens with brilliant aromas of green apple, white peach, crushed flint, lime blossom, and subtle toasted hazelnuts. On the palate, it exhibits fantastic tension and concentration, offering a silky texture layered with vibrant citrus, taut acidity, and a long, intensely stony, saline finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs superbly with butter-poached lobster, grilled turbot, pan-seared sea scallops, roasted poultry with white truffle sauce, or aged Comté cheese.
