Crafted in the famed Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, France, Domaine Duroché Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 'Estournelles-Saint-Jacques' Magnum 1.5L is an extraordinary, highly sought-after red Pinot Noir produced by master vigneron Pierre Duroché. Offered in a prestigious 1.5L Magnum format—ideal for long cellaring and grand tasting occasions—this rare bottling represents the pinnacle of high-elevation Burgundy. Perched at the top of the steep slope at the mouth of the cool Combe de Lavaux valley, the tiny Estournelles-Saint-Jacques Premier Cru vineyard features thin, stony clay-limestone soils over Bajocian limestone bedrock. This elevated microclimate, combined with optimal sun exposure and refreshing valley breezes, grants the wine its signature high-toned aromatic floral elegance, razor-sharp precision, and energetic mineral tension. Hand-harvested from mature vines with meticulous sorting, the fruit undergoes gentle whole-berry vinification with native yeasts. Maturation takes place in neutral French oak barrels (with negligible new oak) before being bottled unfined and unfiltered without mechanical pumps, preserving absolute terroir transparency and legendary age-worthiness.
Food Pairing: Serve on its own as an extraordinary fine wine tasting experience, or pair with roast duck breast with cranberry reduction, pan-seared rack of lamb, roasted pheasant, wild mushroom risotto, coq au vin, and artisanal soft French cheeses like Époisses, Comté, or Delice de Bourgogne.
