Produced by Shinobu Distillery in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, Shinobu Mizunara Single Cask is a limited-edition Japanese single malt from the Sengoku Samurai Series, dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi. This single-cask release was matured exclusively in rare Japanese Mizunara oak and bottled at cask strength at 57% ABV. Drawn from Cask #0396 and limited to only 292 bottles, it showcases Mizunara’s distinctive aromatic character through vanilla, sandalwood, incense, coconut and exotic spice alongside elegant oak and floral notes.
Food Pairing: Grilled wagyu, roasted duck, aged cheese, toasted nuts, dark chocolate, or coconut and vanilla-based desserts.
Tasting Notes: Bold yet elegant, combining vanilla and sweet oak with sandalwood, incense, gentle spice, coconut and distinctive floral Mizunara character.
Nose: Smooth and aromatic, with vanilla and fresh wood accompanied by mint, sandalwood and delicate exotic spice.
Palate: Rich and structured, developing sandalwood and incense alongside gentle spice, subtle coconut, vanilla and distinctive Mizunara oak.
Finish: Long and lingering, with deep floral and woody aromas, gentle spice and persistent Mizunara sweetness.
Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn or tulip-shaped whisky glass; at 57% ABV, a few drops of water can help open its sandalwood, vanilla, incense and floral oak character.
