Introduction
Castello di Verduno Dolcetto d'Alba is a red wine from the Alba region of Piedmont, Italy. The historic estate is a unique link between two prestigious wine towns, as the family owns the castle in Verduno (Barolo) and the Campot estate in Barbaresco. The winemaking philosophy, led by the Burlotto family and legendary oenologist Mario Scaglione, focuses on traditional, minimal-intervention techniques to produce wines that are pure, elegant, and expressive of their specific limestone-rich terroirs.
Wine Description
This wine exhibits a vibrant ruby red colour with youthful violet reflections. The sensory profile is fresh and fruit-forward, featuring aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and crushed blackberries, accented by subtle floral notes of violets and a hint of bitter almond. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and dry, offering a crunchy fruit texture with balanced acidity and the characteristic soft tannins of the Dolcetto variety. The finish is clean and refreshing, often leaving a slight savory, almond-like note.
