Turning back the clock to 1800s Cuba, Master blender Rich Rodriquez and his team at CAO have revisited the traditional pilon method of fermenting tobacco, which is an elaborate process of placing tobacco leaves in round stack to allow for deeper texture, color and flavor. The resulting CAO Pilon Corona is a true work of art.
The CAO Pilon Corona is a 5 ½” x 44 stick that features a plethora of Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos which are beautifully adorned by an Ecuadorian Habano Viso wrapper leaf. The expertly crafted stick delivers an unbelievably entertaining smoke of 40 minutes or so.
As soon as the CAO Pilon Corona is underway, thickly texture wood and pepper flavors ooze onto the palate and are soon followed by hints of cocoa, earth and spice. Slowly building from medium-bodied to full, the luxurious smoke finishes with a big finale that is subtly sweet and immensely satisfying.
Available in boxes of 20 cigars and 5-packs for sale here at , the CAO Pilon Corona is a glorious tribute to the past that will excite the taste-buds unlike any other cigar in CAO’s stable of scrumptious treats. At once smooth, supple and lively, the CAO Pilon Corona is a go-to smoke worthy of prime humidor real estate.
