The Foundation Highclere Castle Edwardian is a cigar born from a collaboration between Nicholas Melillo and the historic Highclere Castle estate, crafted to capture the elegance, sophistication, and refinement of the Edwardian era. Handcrafted in Estelí, Nicaragua, this meticulously blended premium cigar showcases a silky Connecticut Shade wrapper, a rich Brazilian Mata Fina binder, and a proprietary blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos, including Foundation's exclusive Nicadán hybrid seed cultivated in the volcanic soils of Jalapa and Ometepe.
From the first draw, the Edwardian reveals the unmistakable character that has made it one of Foundation's most celebrated creations. The smoke is exceptionally smooth and refined, offering a sophisticated balance of cedar, leather, citrus, white pepper, and natural tobacco sweetness. As the cigar develops, subtle notes of roasted nuts, caramel, and earth emerge, creating layers of complexity that remain harmonious and balanced throughout the experience. The Brazilian Mata Fina binder contributes a distinctive richness, while the Connecticut Shade wrapper delivers the creamy texture and elegance that define this blend.
What sets the Highclere Castle Edwardian apart is its ability to deliver nuance without sacrificing flavor. Mild to medium in body yet remarkably complex, it rewards experienced aficionados with its evolving profile while remaining approachable enough for those seeking a more refined smoking experience. Every component works in concert, producing a luxurious smoke that evokes the timeless grandeur of its namesake estate.
Whether enjoyed with morning coffee, afternoon tea, or an evening pour of aged whisky, the Foundation Highclere Castle Edwardian is a masterclass in balance, craftsmanship, and old-world sophistication—a cigar worthy of the castle whose name it proudly bears.
