This iconic and elegant sparkling wine originates from the Champagne region of France, produced by the independent house of Billecart Salmon in Mareuil sur Ay. Founded in 1818 by the marriage of Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon, the house has remained family-owned for seven generations. The winery's philosophy is defined by "finesse, balance, and elegance," achieved through a signature cold fermentation technique (pioneered in the 1950s) that preserves the fresh, ethereal fruit aromas of the grapes.
Wine Description
The Billecart Salmon Brut Rosé presents a pale, radiant pink colour with warm gold glints and a slow, delicate stream of bubbles. The sensory profile is remarkably precise, featuring an aromatic bouquet of red berries (raspberries and wild strawberries) and citrus zest. On the palate, the wine is light and elegant, showcasing a refreshing acidity and a creamy texture that carries flavours of fresh fruit and subtle floral notes. It is characterized by its "ethereal" nature and a clean, persistent finish. This blend typically consists of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir (vinified as white), with approximately 7% Pinot Noir vinified as red wine from old vines to provide its signature hue and structure. It has an ABV of 12% and a dosage of 9 g/L.
