Introduction
Benjamin Bridge Piquette Zero is a non-alcoholic wine-style spritzer from Canada, specifically originating from the Gaspereau Valley in Nova Scotia. Founded in 1999 by entrepreneurs Gerry McConnell and Dara Gordon, the winery began as a small boutique project along the south-facing slopes of the Bay of Fundy. Today, the family-led team—including second-generation leaders Ashley and Devon McConnell-Gordon—operates as a dedicated sparkling wine house and a certified B Corp. Their winemaking philosophy centers on capturing a unique sense of place, reflected in the Piquette Zero line as a craft alternative to industrially dealcoholized wines that often lose their natural character.
Wine Description
This lively alcohol-free beverage presents a golden sapphire colour with a blond hue in the glass. The nose is vibrant and zesty, offering an aromatic bouquet of key lime, blood orange peel, yuzu, bergamot, and lemon preserve. On the palate, it is bright and vivacious, channeling the essence of a citrus grove complemented by a balancing texture of tart cherries and delicate fruit bitterness. The body is light and refreshing, finishing with a crisp acidity and a subtle maritime saline breeze inspired by the winery's tidal ecosystem. It is crafted from a base of grape skins and must (60%), mineral water (39%), Citra hops, and sea salt. This beverage contains 0% ABV, is vegan-friendly and gluten-free, and contains 0 g of sugar and 50 calories per 250 ml serving. While the winery follows sustainable practices, this product is not certified organic. The optimal drinking window is within 1 to 2 years of purchase to maintain its zesty freshness.
