"Barrell Craft Seagrass Bourbon" is a bourbon blend that combines the grassy coastal qualities found in rye whiskey with the richness and spice of various finishing barrels. This unique blend is crafted using American and Canadian rye whiskeys, each meticulously sourced and individually finished in Martinique Rhum Agricole casks, apricot brandy casks, and Madeira barrels. In an exciting partnership, Barrell Craft Spirits has collaborated with The Ocean Foundation to support seagrass conservation. Select bottles of Barrell Seagrass will feature special hangtags, and a portion of the sales will be donated to The Ocean Foundation, contributing to the preservation and restoration of seagrass ecosystems. This bourbon has been well-received and received a rating of 92 from the Ultimate Beverage Challenge. It offers an exceptionally aromatic experience, where the interplay between spicy rye and Agricole Rhum is pronounced. Aromas and flavors reminiscent of dried stone fruits, fresh-pressed cane juice, cinnamon, warm cashews, and apple blossoms are prominent. The palate reveals an intense and tropical character, with notes of baking spices, fig, mango, and milk chocolate, enhanced by a hint of salted plum. This description is based on the 2021 Ultimate Spirits Challenge evaluation.
