Baileys Chocolate takes the classic Baileys Original Irish Cream and adds real Belgian chocolate. The base holds Irish whiskey, Irish dairy cream and a touch of vanilla. Baileys describes it as a melted-chocolate pour, and that sums it up well. It comes ready to drink, so there is nothing to mix unless you want to.
Open the bottle and a rich chocolate smell greets you right away. The liqueur pours a soft beige, not dark brown, which surprises many people. In your mouth it feels velvety and full. Sweet cream and melted milk chocolate lead, with a faint bitter cacao edge. The finish stays chocolatey and leaves a gentle warmth behind.
Baileys notes on its own product page that this liqueur has earned a Double Gold award. It is bottled at 15.7% ABV, so it stays light enough for slow sipping.
Pour a little over ice, or sip it straight and chilled. Stir it into hot coffee for an easy mocha. It also makes a quick frozen mocha or a chocolate martini. You can even drizzle some over ice cream, brownies or a slice of cake.
Chocolate fans will reach for this bottle again and again. It suits cozy nights in, holiday parties and gift baskets. If creamy flavored liqueurs are your thing, keep one on hand for dessert time.
