Privada Storytelling
Straight Jacket is back, revived from legend and rebuilt from the soil up. Once one of the most celebrated cigars ever produced by Asylum and CLE, this powerhouse disappeared in 2022, leaving a void that fans begged to have filled. For the August 2024 LCA release, the Eiroa family reached deep into their vault of heritage to bring it roaring back.
This new Straight Jacket is born from a fresh crop of the original Eiroa Cuban seed Corojo — the same lineage brought from Cuba to Honduras before the blue mold crisis forced Cuba to hybridize their tobacco forever. That makes this seed not just rare, but historic. What you’re about to smoke is pure, unaltered Corojo in its truest form, grown the way the Eiroas have always believed it should be.
The cigar arrives in a vitola never seen before for this line, a 6 x 52 toro, wearing completely redesigned artwork that looks as intense as the blend beneath it. It is a revival, a tribute, and a statement rolled into one, crafted with the unmistakable fingerprints of Tom Lazuka and Christian Eiroa.
This is Straight Jacket reborn. And this time, it’s exclusive to the LCA.
Flavor Journey
The first puffs explode with classic Corojo spice: red pepper, earth, and cedar rushing across the palate with unapologetic force. As the burn settles in, the profile deepens into leather, toasted wood, and a natural sweetness that only authentic Cuban seed Corojo delivers. By the halfway point, the flavors layer into a rich, full-bodied cadence that feels both old world and intensely modern. The final third closes with powerful earth, warm spice, and a lingering depth that stays long after the cigar is finished.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Because this is exactly what LCA was designed to deliver: access to heritage that would otherwise disappear. A rare seed. A discontinued line. A legendary profile resurrected for one moment only. Straight Jacket represents history, craft, and flavor in their purest forms, and Privada members appreciate cigars with a real story behind the smoke.
Production Notes
A full Honduran puro built entirely from original Eiroa Cuban seed Corojo, grown in Honduras and selected specifically for this limited revival. Rolled in a first-time 6 x 52 toro format and banded with newly redesigned artwork created for this exclusive release.
