Ardbeg Anthology: The Harpy's Tale is the first chapter in Ardbeg's ambitious Anthology series — a collection of limited releases inspired by mythological creatures and the untamed forces of nature. Like the fearsome harpy of legend, this whisky is wild, unpredictable, and impossible to ignore. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-rye whiskey casks, The Harpy's Tale channels Ardbeg's ferocious Islay peat through a lens of spice and dark fruit that is entirely its own.
The nose swoops in with intensity: waves of smoked citrus peel, green herbs, and a sharp, almost electric spiciness cut through the signature Ardbeg peat. Underneath, ripe dark berries, vanilla, and a whisper of leather add intrigue and depth. On the palate, the rye cask influence makes itself known — bold rye spice, cracked black pepper, and dried chili weave through layers of smoked meat, dark cherry, and bittersweet chocolate. The finish is long, fierce, and drying, with a lingering peppery smoke that fades slowly like the echo of a myth.
A limited release for collectors and adventurers — The Harpy's Tale is a chapter worth owning.
