Wrapper: Medio-Tiempo Nicaragua
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Profile: Medium +
Modern Cuban born cigar maker, AJ Fernandez, is now entrusted to re-blend a classic Cuban cigar brand. This blend is powered by a strong, dark, medio-tiempo wrapper that AJ grows in Nicaragua, on his own farm from a hybrid tobacco. Being from Cuba, AJ appreciates the cultural implication of this brand and has spared no expense in creating this unique blend.
Medio-tiempo tobacco is one of the rarest and most prized leaf types in the entire cigar world. The medio-tiempo leaf grows at the very top of the tobacco plant, above the ligero, in a position that receives maximum sunlight and produces a leaf of extraordinary oil content, dark color, and concentrated flavor. Very few farms grow it successfully, and AJ Fernandez's ability to cultivate medio-tiempo on his own Nicaraguan farm from a hybrid seed is a testament to decades of agricultural expertise rooted in his Cuban heritage. The Ramon Allones brand originated in Cuba in 1837, and Fernandez's reinterpretation honors that historic pedigree by matching it with the most powerful single-leaf component he produces, a fitting tribute to a brand that has always represented boldness and quality. A must-try for aficionados interested in what Nicaraguan tobacco can achieve at its most extreme expression.
