A magnificent and extraordinarily unique Northern Italian red wine from the 2020 vintage, presented in an impressive 1.5L Magnum format that ensures superior aging potential. It displays a luminous, dense ruby-red color with delicate garnet highlights and a glycerine-rich viscosity. The highly complex, kaleidoscopic nose opens with a dense mosaic of macerated wild berries, red fruit marmalade, and forest floor, seamlessly layered with sophisticated notes of pipe tobacco, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and dark chocolate. On the full-bodied palate, it offers an impression of enfolding richness and immense textural depth, masterfully balancing its concentrated core of spiced dark fruit with a precise vein of volcanic minerality and velvety, polished tannins that carry into an exceptionally long, warming finish with an appealing note of sweetness.
Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with roasted venison, wild boar ragù, rich meat terrines, slow-braised beef short ribs, or mature, sharp artisanal cheeses like Parmigiano Reggiano.
92 Points - Wine Spectator
This silky red is focused but effortlessly elegant, showing fine, lightly chalky tannins layered with a dark and juicy mix of cherry preserves and blackberry paste, plus a bright hint of pomegranate puree. Fragrant accents of medicinal herbs, anise, graphite and cocoa powder linger on the finish. Corvina, Corvinone and many others. Drink now through 2035. 3,300 cases made, 300 cases imported.
92 Points - James Suckling
Dark profile of ripe blackberries, olives, black pepper and chocolate. Full-bodied with weight, concentration, velvety tannins, crisp acidity and a savory finish. It’s bold rather than tense, yet balanced in its ripeness and toastiness. Drink or hold.
