Introduction
Yvon Mau B de Fonbadet is a red wine from the Bordeaux region of France. Originally established in 1897 in the heart of the Gironde, the Yvon Mau trading house is now a subsidiary of the Freixenet Group, one of the world's largest wine producers. The winemaking philosophy for the B de Fonbadet label involves a partnership with the historic Château Fonbadet, a Pauillac-based estate, to produce an accessible 'second label' style wine that captures the prestige of the region.
Wine Description
This wine displays a beautiful ruby-red colour. The sensory profile is elegant and fragrant, with a nose featuring aromas of fresh raspberry, blackberry, and dark cherries, accompanied by floral, toasted, and spicy notes. On the palate, it is medium-plus-bodied and supple, offering flavours of dark plum, cassis, and cocoa, accented by hints of bell pepper and fine herbs. The structure is characterized by refreshing acidity and firm, mellow tannins, leading to a long and persistent finish.
