Westward Cask Strength American Single Malt Whiskey is an uncompromising expression of Pacific Northwest craft distilling, bottled straight from the barrel at full proof without dilution. This bold whiskey showcases Westward's signature single malt character in its most intense and authentic form, delivering maximum flavor and complexity for the discerning whiskey enthusiast.
Crafted in Portland, Oregon from 100% malted barley and aged in new American oak barrels, this cask strength expression amplifies everything that makes Westward exceptional. The higher proof carries every nuance of flavor with remarkable clarity, from the fruit-forward character developed through ale yeast fermentation to the rich vanilla and caramel notes imparted by new oak.
On the nose, expect powerful aromas of vanilla bean, caramelized sugar, fresh baked bread, and vibrant fruit notes including apple, pear, and dried apricot. The palate is rich and full-bodied, delivering intense flavors of honey, toasted malt, dark fruit, baking spices, oak, and a touch of citrus zest. The finish is long, warm, and evolving, with lingering notes of vanilla, oak, and subtle spice.
Tasting Notes:
