The Westward Whiskey Milestone Edition No. 3 is a standout American single-malt crafted for depth, distinction and celebration. With a mature solera foundation drawing from top-tier barrels, it offers a rich, layered experience—bold yet refined—perfect for those who appreciate the next level of craft whiskey.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Produced by Westward Whiskey in Portland, Oregon, Milestone is their premium, annual release showcasing the best of their single-malt program. Edition No. 3 continues the legacy of the brand’s 21-barrel solera system, where whiskey is drawn cautiously and replenished with new stocks, ensuring complexity and continuity. The mash is 100% malted barley, fermented and distilled in their custom pot stills, then aged in American oak, with select cask finishes incorporated for added nuance. This third iteration builds on Westward’s mastery of malt-forward American whiskey with a broader barrel-house reach and elevated expression.
Tasting Profile
Nose: The aromatics arrive with candied malt, toasted almond, dark chocolate, and deep dried cherry, lifted by bright orange peel and a hint of cinnamon bark.
Palate: Full and velvety—malt-cake richness and brown sugar merge with stewed figs, vanilla bean and warm baking spice. Mid-palate softens into toffee-edged raisins, roasted pecan and a subtle herbal undercurrent.
Finish: Long, polished and resonant—wood spice persists alongside lingering malt sweetness, dried fruit skins and refined oak tannins. The texture remains smooth, inviting contemplation rather than rushing the moment.
