This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.
Winemaking Winemakers harness the Coastal Region’s diverse microclimates, maritime breezes, and mosaic of soils—granite, shale, and sandstone—to craft a Syrah of precision. Its Mediterranean climate encourages extended hang time and even ripening, resulting in a Syrah with savory complexity, layered smoked meat notes and plush black fruit balanced by vibrant acidity and refined structure. Gentle oak aging and minimal intervention preserve its natural freshness and minerality while rounding out tannins, yielding an umami-rich wine that speaks eloquently of its coastal origins and enduring character with elegance.
Vintage The 2024 vintage in South Africa’s Coastal Region saw a harmonious balance between warmth and maritime influence, allowing for slow, even ripening. Extended hang time under consistently moderate conditions resulted in fruit with optimal depth and natural acidity. The interplay of granite, shale, and sandstone soils further shaped the vintage’s expression, adding finesse and structural integrity. With co-fermentation enhancing aromatic integration and a restrained winemaking approach, this wine captures the essence of a season defined by both concentration and freshness.
Pairing Logic This Syrah’s layered complexity and refined balance make it an excellent match for richly seasoned dishes. Its savory notes of black olive, dried herbs, and subtle smoked meat complement roasted lamb, braised short ribs, or earthy lentil-based options. Elevate the pairing with ingredients like black garlic, truffle, or aged cheeses to highlight the wine’s depth and umami-driven finish.
