This rare vintage S.T. Dupont lighter, crafted in 1988, is an authentic example from the distinguished Gatsby Gainierie Lézard series—renowned for combining precious metals with exotic natural materials. Finished in a rich 24k gold surface and wrapped in genuine brown lizard leather, the lighter reflects Dupont’s refined craftsmanship and luxury design language of the late 1980s.
The Gainierie Lézard line was produced in limited quantities due to the complexity of sourcing and working authentic lizard leather, making surviving examples increasingly difficult to find today. This piece retains strong collector appeal and historical significance as an original period example. It has been test‑fired and remains fully functional, offered complete with its original presentation set despite honest signs of age.
