The 2022 Venge Vineyards Scout’s Honor Proprietary Red offers a bold and rich expression, rooted in Napa Valley’s renowned vineyards. This full-bodied blend primarily consists of Zinfandel, complemented by Charbono, Petite Sirah, and a small portion of Syrah. Each component contributes to a dynamic profile, with the Zinfandel providing vibrant fruit, and the Petite Sirah and Syrah adding depth, structure, and complexity.
Colour: Deep ruby with garnet highlights.
Aroma: Aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and licorice, with hints of pepper and sweet vanilla.
Palate: A concentrated burst of black fruits and currants, layered with spices and a touch of char.
Body: Full-bodied, with velvety tannins that enhance the wine’s richness.
Finish: Long, with lingering notes of dark fruit, oak, and peppery spice.
Aged for 14 months, with 50% of the barrels being new American oak, the 2022 vintage is crafted to be approachable upon release while also having the potential to age gracefully over the next 5-8 years. It pairs beautifully with grilled meats, such as lamb or beef, making it a versatile choice for hearty meals.
The wine honors the memory of Scout, the vineyard’s loyal Labrador, embodying the warmth and character of both the wine and its inspiration. This release continues the legacy of producing crowd-pleasing, fruit-forward wines perfect for both immediate enjoyment and cellaring.
