Coffee oils and fine grind particles build up inside burrs and casings over time, leading to stale flavors, sluggish grinding, and reduced grinder lifespan — especially with darker roasts that shed heavier oils. Urnex Biocaf Grinder Cleaning Tablets make the job effortless: simply run a capful through your grinder like coffee beans and the plant-based, food-safe formula does the rest, dislodging particles and absorbing residual oils from burrs and casings without a single tool or any disassembly. Formulated from all-natural, organic, phosphate-free ingredients, Biocaf brings Urnex's professional cleaning standards to your grinder in the most eco-conscious way possible.
Features:

How to Use:
- Empty — Remove all coffee from the grinder hopper completely before cleaning.
- Add Tablets — Add Biocaf Grinder Cleaning Tablets to the hopper: use 1 jar cap (35–40g) for espresso or home grinders, or 2 jar caps (70–80g) for bulk commercial grinders.
- Grind — Set the grinder to a medium setting and operate until all tablets have been ground through.
- Purge — Run two rounds of coffee through the grinder to purge any residual tablet dust from the burrs and casing.
- Repeat if Needed — For heavily soiled grinders, repeat the purge step an additional time.

FAQ:
How often should I clean my grinder with Biocaf tablets? For most home and café environments, cleaning every one to two weeks is recommended for optimal grinder performance. High-volume operations or grinders used with dark, oily roasts may benefit from more frequent cleaning.
Do I need to take my grinder apart to use Biocaf tablets? No. That is one of the key advantages of Biocaf Grinder Cleaning Tablets. Simply run them through the grinder as you would coffee beans — no disassembly, no tools, and no downtime beyond the cleaning cycle itself.
Are Biocaf grinder tablets safe to use around food? Yes. All ingredients are food-safe, organic, and gluten-free. The formula is derived from grains and cereals, making it completely safe for coffee preparation environments. That said, they are a cleaning product and not intended for consumption.
Can I use these in my superautomatic espresso machine's built-in grinder? No. Biocaf Grinder Cleaning Tablets are not compatible with integrated grinders inside superautomatic espresso machines. For superautomatic integrated grinders, Urnex recommends using SuperGrindz, which is specifically formulated for that application.
What is the difference between Biocaf and Grindz grinder cleaning tablets? Both are Urnex grinder cleaning products that work by running through the grinder like coffee. Biocaf is Urnex's eco-focused line, formulated from plant-based, organic, and phosphate-free ingredients with sustainability as a core consideration. Grindz is Urnex's original grinder cleaning tablet in the same grain-and-cereal format.
Will the tablets leave any taste or residue in my grinder? The two-round coffee purge step after cleaning is designed to remove any residual dust from the tablets before you brew. Following the purge instructions ensures no flavor transfer or residue carries into your next grind.
