This distinctive craft cider is produced in Canada by Uncommon Cider Co., which is Western Canada's first urban cidery located in Calgary, Alberta. Established in 2016 by founder Brodie Thomas, the company was born from a passion for traditional full-juice, English-style ciders discovered while living overseas. The cidery's philosophy revolves around a quality-driven approach that pushes the boundaries of traditional cider-making through constant experimentation and strong community involvement.
The Haskap Berry Cider is a core, year-round offering that gains its unique character and vibrant blush colour from the addition of haskap berries, a sweet-tart blue fruit. It displays a striking pink colour and offers a complex aromatic profile with notes of pomegranate, plum, and fruit leather. On the palate, the cider is light and refreshing with a subtle berry sweetness balanced by the crisp acidity of the apple base. Stylistically, it remains true to the producer's commitment to using 100 per cent pressed fruit juice rather than concentrates or added sweeteners. The alcohol by volume (ABV) for this cider is 6.7 per cent. It is naturally gluten-free.
