This flagship cider originates from Canada, specifically Calgary, Alberta. Uncommon Cider Co. is Western Canada's first urban cidery, founded in 2016 by Brodie Thomas. The company's philosophy is rooted in a quality-driven approach that respects traditional English-style cider-making while pushing boundaries through experimentation and active community involvement, such as their annual fruit drive.
The 'Dry' is a crisp, traditional cider made from 100 per cent pressed apple juice. It displays a clear golden colour with a floral and fresh orchard aroma. On the palate, the cider is dry and crushable, featuring notes of ripe fruit and the slight hint of tannin. The finish is strong, defined by freshly picked apples and juicy white grape acidity. Stylistically, it aims for a balance between traditional English depth and modern freshness, avoiding apple juice concentrates or added sweeteners. The alcohol by volume (ABV) is 6.5 per cent. This cider is naturally gluten-friendly.
