Enter a chapter you didn’t know you were waiting for. Uncle Nearest’s “Lost Chapter” Cognac Cask Single Barrel is a bold, barrel-strength single-barrel release from the brand’s limited “Lost Chapter” series—an homage to history, heritage, and untold stories. Leveraging Tennessee whiskey matured then finished in premium cognac casks from a centuries-old French house (10-20 year cognac barrels), this bottle weaves depth and elegance in one.
With proof hovering between 110-120, it commands attention—but what truly captivates is how the cognac cask finish softens and elevates the whiskey. Expect a nose of orchard fruit laced with dark caramel and delicate spice. On the palate: rich fruit (think dried apricot, cherry, stone fruit), layered oak, subtle tobacco leaf, and cognac warmth. Finally, the finish lingers: velvet spice, warm oak, and enough sweetness to linger—but not dominate. This is a whiskey that invites contemplation rather than rush.
