Harvested and processed in the Uji region of Kyoto, this ceremonial-grade matcha is shade-grown, hand-selected, and slowly milled on granite stones to produce a silky, vibrant green powder. The 30 g pouch is airtight and light-proof to preserve aroma and color, bringing authentic Japanese matcha quality into your kitchen or tea ritual.
What makes this UJITYA matcha authentic and different from other green tea powders?
Authenticity starts in the field: leaves grown in Uji under shade produce higher amino acids and the signature bright hue. Traditional stone-grinding yields a superfine texture that dissolves smoothly and releases a balanced umami profile without harsh bitterness.
- Shade-grown tea leaves from Uji, Kyoto for natural sweetness and color
- Slow granite stone milling for a 5–20 micron silky texture
- Airtight, light-proof pouch to maintain freshness and aroma
How should I prepare this ceremonial matcha for tea or a latte?
For a classic whisked bowl, sift 1–2 grams into a warmed bowl, add about 60–80 ml hot water (not boiling), and whisk in quick zigzag motions until frothy. For lattes or smoothies, dissolve matcha with a small amount of warm water before adding steamed milk or blended ingredients to avoid clumps.
- Traditional bowl whisk: 1–2 g matcha, 60–80 ml 70–80°C water, whisk to froth
- Latte: dissolve matcha in 10–20 ml warm water, then add steamed milk or plant milk
- Baking and smoothies: incorporate directly into batters or blend for consistent color
Can I use this ceremonial grade matcha for cooking and baking?
Yes—while formulated for the tea ceremony, the ultra-fine grind and vibrant flavor make this matcha suitable for pastries, ice cream, and beverages. Its concentrated color and balanced umami enhance both sweet and savory recipes when used sparingly.
- Use small measured amounts to avoid overpowering bitterness
- Mix into dry ingredients for even distribution in baking
- Blend into creams, custards, or frostings for vivid green color and depth
How is freshness preserved and how long will the 30 g pouch last?
The matcha is sealed in a light-proof, airtight pouch to slow oxidation and preserve flavor and color. Storage in a cool, dry place or refrigerated after opening extends freshness—typical home use yields many servings from 30 g depending on portion size.
- Airtight, light-blocking pouch to protect from oxygen and light
- Refrigerate after opening for best long-term aroma retention
- 30 g provides multiple ceremonial servings or several latte batches
