Two James Old Cockney Gin is a contemporary style gin from Two James Spirits in Detroit, Michigan — crafted from a base of organic winter wheat with a botanical blend of coriander and orange peel for floral and citrus aromas, balanced by the spice of black peppercorn and earthy notes from orris root, angelica root, and gentian root, with a heavy juniper presence and subtle pine undertones creating a dry, smooth finish.
Two James Spirits was founded in 2013 in Detroit’s Corktown neighbourhood, named for founders Josh and James Poggi’s grandfathers. The Old Cockney Gin is the distillery’s contemporary London Dry-inspired expression — the organic winter wheat base producing a cleaner spirit than grain-neutral spirit, allowing the botanical programme to express with clarity.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Old Cockney a contemporary style rather than London Dry?
Contemporary gin is a broader category that includes gins with juniper as a primary botanical but with more creative freedom in the botanical programme and production method than London Dry’s strict regulations. Old Cockney’s heavy juniper presence aligns with London Dry tradition but the specific botanical blend and organic wheat base give it the contemporary style classification.
